The Palouse Community Center will be located on Main Street, on the site of the former Congress Theater, next door to its former home.

The Main Street entrance will be for its retail occupants—Needful Things Thrift Shop and Online Bookstore. The bookstore will be located in the mezzanine area. Both businesses raise funds for the Center and will continue to provide operations funding once the building is completed. The two entities generate more than $500 profit per month and are operated by volunteers.

The Whitman Street main entrance will provide more privacy which was a preference of Palouse residents. The renovation of Whitman Street supplies a small parking lot and additional street parking. A sidewalk will connect Main Street with the entrance.

The meeting room is designed to hold 400 people—about the same as the former center. There will be a fully equipped kitchen. The city of Palouse has granted a 99-year lease of the property to the Community Center.
